It is fun and interesting to see how different “old” fruits and vegetables are regaining terrain and actually return in products almost as “novelty” foods. While many people are overwhelmed by the new super fruits as well as the attractively named ones like yuzu, yumberrie and dragonfruit, thankfully a growing group of people refocuses on the forgotten fruits and vegetables.

In that line, this article referring to purple carrots shows how even the young are being targeted with a “retro” vegetable:

First Juice provides drinks for young children, aged 6 to 30 months. Clearly the focus on the carrot, which gives them (some) variation from the product range their competition is offering.
